2/5 in goodreads.
After reading the first few chapters I thought it was my fleeting motivaition that wanted me to close my book and stop reading. Only after a few days I realized how repetitive and dull this book is. This is the first time I realized that not all books are worth reading up to the very end of a page. However, his ted talk did not disappoint. The Ted Talk was wayyyy concise and straight to the point. I enjoyed it more and understood it more when I watched it. If there is one thing I'd take away from this book is that "People don't buy what you do, they buy WHY you do it".
Here is Simons Video. Watch it!
Here"s my review:
Before reading this book I checked the reviews here in Goodreads and decided to give the book the benefit of the doubt. The first few chapters were quite interesting anecdotes on how great leaders and innovators of the past focused on the WHY they were doing something that led to their successful life. I already understood how important WHY is and it would translate better to HOW and WHAT a person/company does but it is too repetitive. The Goodreads community who criticized this for being too long and monotonous proved to be true. I struggled to read and forced myself up to page 141 then I told myself I had enough. 2/5.
